Susan L. Pierson

Susan L. (Sue) Pierson, of Bethel Park, passed peacefully on Saturday May 21, 2022 after a long illness.  Beloved wife for 60 years of L. Raymond Pierson, who she met during their freshman year at Westminster College, and shared a life of loving devotion, Christian faithfulness and care that has served as an example not only to their children and grandchildren, but to friends and the community.  Loving mother of Susan Hudson (Scott), Michael Pierson (Carla) and James Pierson who have benefitted from her wisdom, her enthusiasm in creating memorable family times, and her constant, unchanging support.  Grandmother of Andrew Pierson, Erin Johnson (Kevin), Taylor Hudson (Caroline), Mitchell Pierson, Zachary Hudson (Courtney), Caleb Pierson and Julia Pierson, who have been beneficiaries of her nurturing spirit, whether playing blocks on the floor, rooting from the stands or instilling precious traditions like Bible verse sharing.  She woke early every morning to read her Bible and pray faithfully for those she loved and her faith has had a generational impact.  Sue was a Charter member of John McMillan Presbyterian Church, where she enjoyed teaching in the preschool for 25 years. Many of her former students and parents of students have expressed their gratitude over the years for not only her eagerness to help young people learn and grow, but for the way she listened and cared.  Visitation will be held on Friday May 27th from 2:30-4:00pm and 6:30 to 8:00pm at the David J. Henney Funeral Home, 6364 Library Rd., South Park.  Funeral Service will be held on Saturday May 28th, 10:00am in John McMillan Presbyterian Church, 875 Clifton Rd., Bethel Park.   For those that are unable to attend, the funeral service will be made available for viewing by live stream at:   https://www.johnmcmillanpc.org/
