John F. Baumgarten, Sr., of Finleyville, on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, age 101, husband of the late Madeline (Messner), loving father of John F. Jr. (Mary) & the late M. Marie Baumgarten, brother of the late Margaret Rettger, Valentine, Alphonso & Herman Baumgarten, grandfather of Deborah, Cynthia, John III, Robert, James, Edward, Angel & the late Carl, 15 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, also many nieces & nephews. John served in the Army during WWII. He was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus with Council #13832 & a member of the honor guard. Visitation Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the David J. Henney Funeral Home, 6364 Library Road (RT 88), Library. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday 10:00 in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Finleyville.
