Margaret A. "Peggy" Fisher-Opferman, age 102, of South Park, formerly of Mt. Lebanon & Scott Twp., passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2019, daughter of the late Anna B. and Frank H. Fisher of Mt. Lebanon. Peggy was one of 9 children. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 5 brothers. Surviving is one son Norman L. Opferman (Sandra), 4 grandchildren Kathryn Lee (James), Karin Dowling (James), Mark Opferman & Michael Opferman (Jennifer), 7 great-grandchildren, Krystal, Erich, Amanda, Kateri, Patrick, Benjamin & Morgan and 7 great-great grandchildren, Kayla, Addalei, Elora, Adrien, Castiel, Ava & Alivia. She was a life long member of St. Anne Roman Catholic Church, Castle Shannon, PA. Peggy was employed by J.D. Matthews during the WWII war effort til the war ended. She worked at St. Clair Hospital for 21 years as a nursing assistant in Pediatrics. After retiring at the age of 69, she returned to work at the Franciscan Child Day Care Center in Whitehall where she was loved and still remembered as "Miss Peggy". She retired again after 14 years at the age of 84. Peggy worked many years as a democratic committee woman for Allegheny County. She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirate fan since the 1940's. Peggy was known for her excellent pies and will be missed by many family and friends. Visitation Monday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the David J. Henney Funeral Home, 6364 Library Road (RT 88), Library. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anne Roman Catholic Church, 400 Hoodridge Dr, Pgh, PA 15234.
