Charles "Sonny" Cusic, age 86, of South Park, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 14, 1935, Charles is survived by his beloved wife for 60 years of Janis (Broglie) Cusic, his children, Nadine (Tom Butler) Cusic, Charles (Sandra) Cusic and Lorraine (Tom) Blackburn, and his grandchildren, Jacob and Madison Cusic, Evan (Kylie) Wielgoleski, and Charlyn, Anthony, and Carson Blackburn and sister-in-law Stephanie Broglie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Cusic, his siblings, Lorraine Shones, Dorothy (Herky) Broutin, Edward Cusic and brother-in-law, Joseph Broglie. Sonny had a huge heart and defined true character. He was an Army veteran and an AVID sports fan. He enjoyed watching all sports and boy did he know all the rules. More so, he loved watching his grandchildren play. No matter the sport, he was always in the stands. We will all miss his love, patience, calmness, and generosity. Also, we will especially miss his story telling of his army experience, as well as all the fields, courts, and golf courses that he played on throughout his life, often recanting all of the details of each game. Visitation Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the David J. Henney Funeral Home, 6364 Library Road (RT 88), Library, where a Funeral Service will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Burial in Jefferson Memorial Park with Full Military Honors. A special thanks to Sonny's hospice nurse, Erika, who's compassion helped us through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Gallagher Hospice via their website at gallagherhospice.com or South Park Historical Society, P.O Box 555, South Park, PA 15129. www.davidhenneyfuneralhome.com
