Deborah Ann (Urban) Hanus passed away peacefully in her daughter’s arms on the morning of April 29, 2024 in New York City after a private four year battle with cancer. Born in Elrama on September 24, 1960, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Anna J. Urban. She was also very close to her grandmother, the late Agnes (Cindrich) Uremovich. She later resided in Finleyville, where she was a beloved Sunday School teacher at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughter, Kaitlyn R. Hanus of NYC with whom she resided, her former husband John S. Hanus of Bethel Park, and her brother William D. (Janell) Urban of Coroapolis. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Robert M. Urban and David G. Urban. Deborah spent the last nine years of her life living with her daughter in New York. She worked as the Supervisor of buybuyBaby before retiring in 2021. She enjoyed all the city had to offer and loved traveling with her daughter. She was also an amazing Grandma to Nugget the French Bulldog. Debbie was 63 years young, full of life, and will be deeply missed. Friends and family will be received Monday from 3-8 p.m. at the David J. Henney Funeral Home, 6364 Library Road (RT 88), Library. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church part of St. John XXIII Parish.
