The 3 P’S- Party- People and Polkas!!! Here’s to a wonderful life with a most incredible human spirit. Our farewell shall have heartbreaking tears- our memories will be full of laughter. There’s a party in heaven- and I’m sure she’s carrying her “ drink du jour” - the Mudslide.
Mom loved her family, fiercely and would do anything for us at any time. She was our biggest fan, whether at an organ recital, sporting event or skating competition. She really enjoyed every moment of life …. bingo, Phase 10, many casino trips, poker, pig roasts, parties, entertaining with lots of food. She was so talented and creative as a seamstress, exceptional baker, and avid gardener. Her spirit was fun-loving and dedicated to making people happy.  It was her gift, her super power. She was generous, almost to a fault. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her family. She baked 1000+ cookies for each of her granddaughter’s weddings! She made a ton of memories with her 5 grandchildren …. all filled with love and laughter. She loved her 4 great-children beyond words even though it was harder for her to enjoy them as much as she wanted in her later years. She loved them all and they loved her beyond words.
Mom’s faith was strong and enduring. It got her through the tough times as well as the good. She was a life-long member of St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael where she and Dad were married and where she will be laid to rest.  She is going home.
In her later years, with the onset of dementia, she started a slow decline.  She missed Dad so much, and she felt his absence tremendously. It was always Guzzie and Dillie.  In her later years, she moved to Pittsburgh with her sister and started a new life … but her heart would always be in Sidman, her real home.  Dementia slowly claimed her mind and all her memories, one by one. And yet, still there were special moments of grace and the blessing of a distant memory being sparked. She always kept her beautiful smile and gentle spirit,  and was dearly loved by all who met her. We will never forget the kindness, care, and compassion given to Mom by all the “angels” who cared for her at Arden Courts, Jefferson Hills and Paramount PACU and Hospice, Peters Twp. She was their “Dillie girl” and they treated our mother with love, respect, and dignity. She was their rock star, and our gratitude to them is eternal.
We, her family, will miss our Mom, our Bubba, our Dillie infinitely. Our hearts are heavy now,  but will light up with all the memories of her love and sacrifice for us. In the days ahead, we will surely find ourselves sharing these stories, laughing out loud, and simply trying to live our lives in a way that honors our mother.  We love you, Mom – we miss you. Rest in God’s peace and keep watch over all of us.
