Earl J. Roithner of Library, born July 1, 1937, died with family by his side Sunday morning, February 9, 2025. Earl was a retired salesman. He was a hard worker who never called off sick in the 38 years he worked for Frito-Lay. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed selling at the flea markets and finding a great deal at yard sales. He enjoyed watching football, baseball and hockey, collecting memorabilia, going to the casino, gun bashes, looking for golf balls, spending time with family and lived life by his moto “You have to take everything day by day.” Earl made friends easily and loved to carry on a conversation. He was able to connect with everyone he spoke with which is what made him a great salesman.
Earl was the son of the late Joseph and Alice (Hildenbrand) Roithner and was preceded in death by his wife and life companion Barbara Roithner (June 20, 2023) and brothers Robert A. Roithner, Donald and sister Dorothy. He is survived by his brothers James (late Claire) Roithner of Finleyville, Daniel (Annette) Roithner of Pittsburgh, daughters Brenda Roithner of Hickory, Patricia (Darrin) Ford of Long Branch and son Thomas Roithner of Scott Air Force Base; grandchildren Amanda, Christopher, Rachael, Bradley (Kristal), Joshua and Desiree; great grandchildren Noah, Tyson, Cameron, Allison and Hope; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received Wednesday 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. at the David J. Henney Funeral Home, 6364 Library Road (RT 88), Library, where a Funeral Service will be Thursday at 11:45 a.m. at West Newton Cemetery with The Rev. Darrin L.
