GARRETT ANDERSON FORCE

Garrett (Stretch) Anderson Force was born September 29, 1946, in West Orange, NJ. He grew up in Baltimore, MD, and relocated to Pittsburgh, PA in 1990. In 2002, after working as a communication engineer in Baltimore and Pittsburgh for 38 years at AT&T and their conglomerate of spin-offs, he left to own and operate GForce Communications 2005-2012. 

He was an amazing man who lived his life unapologetically and authentically. His job, his avid love of golf, and his outreach of later-life care-giving experiences all contributed to his repertoire of stories that he loved telling (and people loved to hear). His love of music stemmed from his early years of playing guitar in coffee houses, and his support of the Pittsburgh Steelers was nurtured when the Colts left Baltimore "in the middle of the night." Lastly, fishing and hunting allowed him to enjoy all that nature offered and gave him respect for every living thing. 

Garrett is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sandra Perkins Force.  He also leaves behind his daughter, Jennifer (Bryan) Wynne, step daughter, Gina Attanucci Kozak and step son, Gregg (Ann) Attanucci. He is also remembered by his sister, Martha Gayle "Marty" (Robert) Vint, 10 grandchildren, 5.5 great-granddaughters, his niece and nephew and 3 great-nieces and great-nephew.  He is preceded in death by his mother Inga Anderson Walker.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society @ donate.cancer.org.
