Gerald C. Gilchrist, Sr., of South Park, suddenly at home, on Thursday, September 17, 2020, age 67, beloved husband of Cheryl (Griffin) Gilchrist, loving father of Randi Carter (Barry), Gerald "Dobbie" Gilchrist & Michael Gilchrist, papa of Bryce, Tania, Makayla, Alyjah, Noah & Gabriel, son of the late George Gilchrist and James & Jennie Burroughs, brother of George "Butch" Gilchrist, III and nephew of Bessie Phillips. Gerry was a member and chaplain of Pride of the West Masonic Lodge #84 of McKeesport. He was a licensed PA Funeral Director and supervisor at Pitts Funeral Home in Aliquippa and was a former Homestead Police Officer. Gerry taught Physical Education at Steel Valley High School and worked at the Allegheny County Coroner's Office. Gerry loved old cars and a good car cruise. Visitation Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the David J. Henney Funeral Home, 6364 Library Road (RT 88), Library. The family will also receive family and friends Thursday 10 - 11 a.m. in the Park Place AME Church, 215 E. 10th Ave., Homestead, PA. A Going Home Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. for the family and relatives only, due to Covid restrictions, with the Rev. Thomas H. Fant officiating. Interment in Monongahela Cemetery,N.
