Jonna Dee Wingard went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 4, 2024. She was born August 29, 1938 in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Charles and Mildred (Silvius) McCurdy. Jonna met Jan Wingard in 1959 in Oakland on a chance encounter ordained by God. He knew instantly that he wanted to pursue the girl, the pizza, and the car she owned. They were married in 1960; together they had three children, Jana, Justi, and Jace. She cherished her family and, later, loved spending time with her grandchildren. Jonna’s deep and enduring love for Jesus bore much fruit in the lives of those around her. Jonna’s family will always remember her heart for the lost, witnessing the love of Jesus to everyone she met, teaching her children the value of the Word of God as she devoted her time to reading the Bible, attending church, traveling to gospel meetings and leading Bible studies. She faithfully attended and served South Hills Assembly of God in Bethel Park for over 50 years. She lived much of her life praying and bringing the concerns of everyone she met to God. Prayer for the lost, sick, and those in need was her first priority. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by Jan, her beloved husband of 64 years; daughters Jana (Mark) Snavely of Mars, PA; Justi (Dana) Beachy of North Strabane, PA; and son Jace (Rachel) Wingard of Bethel Park, PA; grandchildren Jaron (Allie) Snavely, Elizabeth (Jeremy) Merich, Jenna (Luke) Potutschnig, Britton Beachy, Ethan Beachy, Jathan Snavely, Anna Beachy, Conor Wingard, Luke Wingard, Noah Wingard; two great grandchildren James Potutschnig and Magnolia Merich; siblings Frankie Ann Bonifield, Charles McCurdy; two brother-in-law’s Joel (Karla) Wingard, Mark (Dawn) Wingard; and many deeply loved nieces and nephews. Jonna was preceded in death by her parents.
