Joseph “Joe” Montuoro, Jr., 79, of South Park, Pa., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of his children and best friend. Born January 29, 1947, he was the son of the late Joseph Sr. and Mildred “Millie” Montuoro. Joe was raised in the South Park area and was a graduate of Snowden High School. After graduating high school, Joe proudly answered the call to service by joining the United States Marine Corps and attained the rank of Sergeant. A proud veteran of the Vietnam War, he carried the Marine Corps values of honor and loyalty with him throughout his life.
Following military service, Joe began a career with the Port Authority, where he was a welder, and retired as an inventory control specialist. Joe’s passions were a defining part of his life. He loved playing softball and table tennis. Joe had a passion for shooting and enjoyed spending time at the local gun clubs and found joy teaching others the craft. He especially loved hunting and shared many memorable hunting trips over the years with his best friend and his sons. Joe was also a great fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and loved the simple pleasure of watching old movies and Star Trek reruns.
He is survived by his wife, Ginger (Kisiel) Montuoro; his brother James (Vicky) Montuoro; his sons, Joseph (Jennifer) Montuoro, Jr. and Michael (Amy) Montuoro; his grandchildren, Maria (Austin) Montuoro-Robinson, Shyan (Michael) Lim, and Anthony Montuoro, along with many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Montuoro, and sister-in-law, Patricia Montuoro. He appreciated good conversation, camaraderie, and the simple routine of being around the people he enjoyed most. Those who knew Joe will remember his strong personality, strong work ethic, sense of humor, and the love he had for those closest to him.
