Joseph D. Nicoletti

 Joseph D. Nicoletti, of Bethel Park, peacefully at home, on Monday, April 18, 2022, age 90, husband for 56 years of the late Dorothy L. (Iole) Nicoletti, beloved father of Susan Rushlander, Joseph Jr. (Mickey), Donna Tritschler (Bill), and the late Diane Nicoletti, brother of the late William (Nellie) and the late Marie Hopper, brother-in-law of John Hopper, grandfather of Jordan, Joseph III, Alex, Blaise, Andrew, Zachary, Maura and Dylan, also great-grandfather of Sadie, Otto, Hannah, Joseph IV, Luca, Lucy, Scarlett, Leonardo and Rocco and special friend of Vivian McDowell. Joe was a proud graduate of Westinghouse High School and the University of Louisville where he excelled in both football and baseball, he then earned his Masters degree at the University of Pittsburgh which led to his teaching career.  He was a teacher at Bethel Park for 35 years and also coached multiple sports during his time there in which he developed lifetime bonds and friendships with many of his former players.  He was inducted into the Bethel Park Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009.  He had a love of sports and the outdoors where he enjoyed golfing, hunting and he was an avid fisherman and he especially looked forward to the annual fishing trips to Canada.  Joe was especially proud of his Italian heritage and even more proud of his family and loved spending time with them whenever he could. The family would like to thank the staff of the Sheridan at Bethel Park for taking such good care of Joe for the past 3 years. Visitation Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the David J. Henney Funeral Home, 6364 Library Road (RT 88), Library. Mass of Christian Burial Friday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church.
