Kelly R. Mahoney, of South Park, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, age 57. It is with deepest sympathy that we announce the death of Kelly Mahoney, who was a loving wife, astounding mother, cherished sister, beloved grandmother, friend and much more. Her light and her love for others and readiness to help and care for anyone is a gift that will be greatly missed. Kelly was preceded in death by her parents, Sheryl and James Mahoney, her grandmother, Margaret Mahoney, while also greeted by her many pets, as Kelly loved her animals ever so dearly.
She is survived by her husband of many years, Jeff, her children, Shane (Brittany), Zackary, and Mikaela, her sister Shannon and brother Shawn, and her two beautiful grandchildren, Liam and Riley. She will also be remembered by the lasting footprints of all her friends, family and so many who also called her mom.
Born in Pittsburgh, Kelly was a graduate of South Park High School, class of 1986. Beginning her career at PNC Bank, she later left to be at home with her 3 children and beloved pets. Kelly was very family oriented, spending all the time she could taking care of those who had meant the most to her and creating a home for those who needed it most. Kelly was a woman of many hobbies, cross stitching, jewelry making, and coloring all of which she enjoyed when not devoting her time to Rory Ridge Rescue and being ‘Gigi’ to her two amazing grandchildren. Kelly was a mother to all who got the chance to cross her path and treated them as one of her own. A loyal friend and always ready to pick up the phone when she was needed.
Kelly may have left us in this world, but forgetting her and her heart is impossible as she has crossed over into the Kingdom of Heaven. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10th from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the David J. Henney Funeral Home, 6364 Library Road (RT 88), Library. In memory of Kelly, everyone please wear blue.
