Patricia “Patti O” Marie (Vas) Opferman
On March 2, 2022, “Patti O” would like to let you know that her time on earth has been cut short by Pancreatic Cancer. Do not be sad today as she taken on a new calling. Born in Beechview, PA on June 24, 1966 to her late parents, Tibor “Ty” Vas and Donna C. (Brackney) Vas, she was the youngest sister to her three brothers; Tim (Mary), Bob (Erin), and Ken (Joanne). She was preceded by her late paternal grandparents Bela “Albert” and Charlotte (Pusztai) Vas and maternal grandparents Chester and Loretta Brackney. Her family circle included 15 nieces and nephews and an adoring and devoted community of friends.
Patti spent much of her life supporting, even starting, many causes, charities, and foundations. This dedication and generosity touched many lives, from soldiers overseas to the children of her beloved community, Bethel Park. Following her diagnosis, Patti became a strong advocate for personal health and for staying on top of what your body was telling you. She loved few things more than comfy clothes, her cats, and true crime. Patti was a woman of many talents, but she was above all a passionate storyteller, with a penchant for biting wit, sarcasm, and wisdom who loved to make others laugh. While she will be missed dearly, her stories will continue on in our hearts.
Patti is survived by her husband Scott Opferman and her three children Kaci (Opferman) Ward (Daniel), Carol, and David. Visitation will be held Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at David J. Henney Funeral Home, 6364 Library Road (RT 88), Library. A Memorial Service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 80 Bartley Road (Upper Saint Clair). EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in memory of Patti to The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research (https://lustgarten.org/). www.davidhenneyfuneralhome.com
