Peter Klerr Obituary

Peter Anton Klerr was born January 30, 1938 in Pottstown, PA and died November 3, 2022. His parents were Peter John Klerr and Lena "Jennie" Guest. He married Marjorie Irene McFarlane in Choteau, MT. He is survived by his daughter Nickole G. Klerr and granddaughter Amber L. Cantrell, his brother Ronald Klerr and Sara L. (Golfee) Bodolus. He has joined his wife and siblings David E. Blackwell, Geraldine A. Golfee and Leon J. Klerr.

He grew up in Pottstown, PA, but due to his mother becoming very ill, he and his two younger brothers were sent to Boystown, NE. He graduated from Boystown, NE, High School and went on to join the Air Force. He was an aircraft mechanic in the Air Force. He met his wife Marge while stationed in Montana. When he left the Air Force, he eventually returned to eastern PA. He worked for Met-Ed until he retired. He never went to college or technical school but he was able to draw house plans, wire a house from top to bottom and fix almost anything. He became the fixer/helper person to family and friends.

He loved photography and travel. He took his family on many trips to all over the western states. One trip they had to lock his camera in the trunk of the car because he stopped every mile or so to take pictures. Another year he planned a trip through the southwest to see Saguaros cactus. The trip did not quite go as planned...somehow, he missed the biggest concentration of the cacti.

As an adult, he learned how to waltz on roller skates. This became a long-time passion for him. He loved music and had an extensive collection of music and this prompted him to learn to use a computer and study books so he could build a database for his music collection.

He was the dad that every child should have. There was never a time his loved ones could not pick up the phone and call for his help and he would be there. He will be missed.
