Robert Allan Devore

Robert Allan Devore, of Canonsburg and formerly of Penn Township, PA, passed away on May 3, 2024 in his home, surrounded by the family that he so loved.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of forty-seven years, Leslie (Weinhold) to whom he was endlessly devoted.  He was the greatest father to his beloved daughters, Emily DeVore (Raphael Dick) of McMurray and Elizabeth Downs (Daniel) of Mt. Lebanon; and a cherished “Pappy” to his adored grandchildren, Robert “Robbie,” Maximilian, Rory, and Sullivan DeVore and Eleanor and Eliza Downs, all of whom brought him much joy and immense pride.  He is also survived by his sister, Joan Wiesner, of Cranberry and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his parents, Emil and Ann Dvorsky.  

In his eighty-five years, he lived a great and purposeful life with direction, vision, the hardest of work ethics, the deepest of faiths, and the most profound love of and for his family.  In his many roles in life, both in business and as a partner, parent, and grandfather, he served each and all as the very best.  He will be greatly missed and always remembered for his wit, thoughtfulness, strength, and grace.

He was a 1957 graduate of Duquesne High School and a 1961 graduate of Wittenberg University before serving his country in the US Army.  After several years at US Steel, he subsequently had a long career in sales and sales management.  However, in spite of his many sales awards and professional accomplishments, he was most proud of his loving family, beautiful home, and pristine yard.  He knew his life’s purpose and saw the value of his hard work. 

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday May 8, 2024 at 12pm after an 11am visitation at Faith Lutheran Church, 80 Bartley Road Upper St. Clair, PA 15241.  Pastor Ronald Weryha will be officiating with interment to follow at Mt.
