Rosinia Dugan Obituary

Rosinia "Ross" Caligiuri Dugan, born January 13, 1927 to Pietro and Candida Caligiuri in Pittsburgh, PA, died June 27, 2020. Survived by her four children, William Francis (Sandy) of Finleyville, Timothy Peter of Connellsville, Brian Caligiuri (Christine) of Bethel Park, Meghan Candida of Roseburg, Oregon, and grandchildren Isabella Rosina and Mason James William of Roseburg, Oregon; sister Mary Kriston of Finleyville, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, William A. Dugan, her parents, brothers Joseph and Frank, and sister Joanne. The daughter of Italian immigrants who settled in Carnegie, Ross graduated from Carnegie High School in 1945. Ross worked in retail and met her future husband Bill at Horne's Department Store. When Bill asked her to marry him, he gave her a paper clip bent into a ring, and a beautiful gold bracelet she cherished. They married in May 1956 and moved to South Park, where she remained independently living in their home until her passing. An impeccable hostess, she loved being surrounded by friends and family enjoying her home cooked meals, baked goods, and hospitality. No one left her home empty-handed. She was known for her fashion sense, cookies and pies, ladies' luncheons, gift-giving, maintaining lifelong friendships, and family history knowledge. Ross was proud of her children, liked sending care packages to her grandchildren, loved their yearly visits and played badminton with them until she was 90. She was active all her life, enjoyed walking, reading, and sitting in her backyard. She loved flowers, especially daisies, and the color yellow. Ross touched many hearts from young to old in her 93 years. Visitation Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the David J. Henney Funeral Home, 6364 Library Road (RT 88), Libray, Pa. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church. www.davidhenneyfuneralhome.com
