Passed away peacefully at his home in Lawrence, PA on Saturday July 5, 2025, age 70. Beloved husband of Patricia Harper; loving father of Julie Kaufman (Matt). Stepfather of Michael Grimm and Corey Grimm (Lindsay) and their son Theo; brother of Rick Harper (Jeen). Also survived and loved by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Scott was a 1972 graduate of Bethel Park High School, where he was a member of the Blackhawk Marching Band, serving as student director in his senior year. He graduated from Clarion State College in 1975. His career path took him from Pennsylvania to Texas, Alabama, Michigan and Central PA, and then back to Bethel Park.
He had a successful 30+ year career in the financial services industry. He truly loved working with his clients to help them achieve their financial and retirement goals. Scott got special satisfaction working with students through the Junior Achievement Biz Town program, teaching them about financial literacy and how businesses worked. His work was never a job, but rather a vocation, and an extension of his deep Christian faith.
Scott was a diehard Pittsburgh sports fan and loved all things Pirates, Penguins, Steelers and Pitt Panthers, but more than anything, Scott loved his family and he enjoyed hosting Sunday family dinners, holiday celebrations and game nights. He was an avid dog lover, and enjoyed spoiling Heidi, Munchkin and Scooter.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and Family Hospice for their kindness and care.
Family and friends will be received on Friday July 25th from 2-4 and 6-8pm at David J. Henney Funeral Home, 6364 Library Rd. (Route 88), Library.
