Sidney N. Gillis

Sidney N. Gillis, of Pittsburgh, on Sunday, December 11, 2022, age 79, beloved husband for 45 years of Cathleen M. Gillis (Murphy), loving father of Benjamin (Stacey) and Annie Borowski (David), son of the late Henry and Zelda (Tauberg) Gillis, brother of Alan (Faith), Rochelle Weiss (the late Joseph), Marcie Gillis and the late Martin Gillis, also grandfather of Izzy, Emma, Adam and Kenzie. Sid was a route manager of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette/Pgh Press Teamsters Local #211 for 37 years. He was a member of the South Park Democratic Committee and a life long supporter of the South Park Community and School District. Sid was an avid sports fan, coached "Sid's Kids" softball team, the St. Lawrence O'Toole girls basketball team, attended multiple Steeler Super Bowls, was a stadium vendor when Maz hit the winning 1960 World Series Home Run, and long time Pitt fan. Sid never met a person he didn't like and touched so many with his distinctive personality and huge heart, gaining him many friends for life. Visitation Wednesday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the David J. Henney Funeral Home, 6364 Library Road (RT 88), Library. A Funeral Service will be held at Woodruff Memorial Park Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends can meet at the David J.
